Bologna’s Guglielmo Marconi Airport operates international flights and serves all of Emilia Romagna and the adjacent areas.
The passenger terminal of the airport is spread over two floors, the main airlines are Ryanair, Alitalia, Lufthansa and Turkish Airline and the busiest destinations, in addition to national ones such as Palermo, Catania and Rome Fiumicino, are Paris and Frankfurt. There is also a cargo terminal, the fifth airport in Italy for freight traffic volumes.
The airport ranked seventh in the ranking of Italian airports for annual passenger traffic, in fact in 2019 it recorded 9,405,920. Most were Italians (66%) and only 32% traveled for business reasons, half of the people were between the ages of 36 and 55.
