Catania-Fontanarossa airport, dedicated to the composer Vincenzo Bellini, is the main airport in Sicily by number of passengers. It is located a few km from the city center and mainly carries out national and European flights.
The property has two terminals. Terminal 1 absorbs 89% of total air traffic and from there airlines such as Alitalia, Vueling, Ryanair and Wizz Air fly, the main destinations are Fiumicino, Linate, Malpensa, Venice and Bologna and some foreign cities such as Paris. EasyJet flights depart from Terminal 2, the main destinations besides the Italian ones are London and Berlin.
It is considered the sixth national airport for passenger traffic (more than 10 million). For the vast majority, they are Italians (83%) and traveling for personal reasons (72%) and 40% of them with an age between 36 and 55.
